PCAPPA 2025 Conference – Shaping the Future: Innovations in Sustainability & Resilience

Building on the momentum from 2024, PCAPPA is now setting the stage for the 2025 conference to be held in San Jose, California on October 19–21, 2025. Themed “Shaping the Future: Innovations in Sustainability & Resilience,” the conference aims to address the pressing challenges faced by educational institutions, focusing on environmental, financial, and operational sustainability.

Educational tracks and subtopics include the following:

Innovation and Leadership in Climate Action

• Implementing renewable energy and reducing carbon footprint
• Integrating sustainability into academics
• Collaborating with communities and industry

Financial Sustainability Amidst Revenue Shifts

• Managing deferred maintenance and infrastructure upgrades within budgets
• Optimizing space use
• Using technology for cost savings and forecasting

Building a Sustainable Workforce and Operations

• Tackling recruitment challenges
• Partnering with vocational schools and unions
• Enhancing efficiency through technology and training

We are soliciting proposals that demonstrate success through case studies and programs that offer inspiration, innovation, and excellence. If you have a topic that will be of significant interest to the audience but may not align exactly with the themes, we still encourage you to submit a proposal for review. Deadline to submit is May 31, 2025.

Apply for PCAPPA Regional Director!

The PCAPPA Regional Director serves on both the PCAPPA and APPA Boards and holds voting rights on both. The Regional Director must be an institutional member of the Association and will serve a three-year term.

Interested parties should submit a letter of interest which addresses each of the criteria, a current resume or CV, and a letter of support from the applicant’s institution. All three documents are required! More info on our Board Roles page.

Welcome to a new chapter for PCAPPA! As your President, I am thrilled to lead our organization into an era of innovation, collaboration, and sustainability. Our mission is to empower facilities management professionals across the Pacific Coast region to excel in their roles and make a lasting impact on their institutions and communities.

Our Vision for the Future:

As appreciation for your support, we’re pleased to announce the continuation of our Member Spotlight Program where we highlight YOU, our members, and all the great things you are doing to further the development of facilities professionals and management.

Click here to tell us about the work you or someone else is doing on your campus. Tell us about the project, the team members involved, and the outcomes. PCAPPA will highlight these success stories on our website and give away conference discounts to selected members!

One member will be selected monthly and will earn a $150 discount to apply toward registration at the PCAPPA 2023 Annual Conference. All success stories and submissions will be highlighted on pcappa.org and at our in-person September conference. This opportunity begins now, and a member will be selected monthly.
